Legendary striker Didier Drogba goes off on his recent rant about Chelsea FC!
Bad days for Chelsea only extends as the 2-time UCL winners bowed out of the Quarter-final stage by reigning champions Real Madrid. Many were suggesting that Chelsea would make a come back in the 2nd leg similar to what they did in the Round of 16 against Borussia Dortmund but they suffered a 4-0 aggregate loss.
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly had predicted a scoreline of 3-0 in the 1st leg at Santiago Bernabeu and he will be smashing his head on the wall after the result. Chelsea splurged $350 million on transfers this season and turns out all the investment will not bring any silverware at Stamford Bridge this season.

Chelsea’s legend and one of the main man behind the club’s maiden UCL victory in 2012 against Bayern Munich, Didier Drogba said that he doesn’t understand the philosophy of the Club anymore and slammed the talent scouting for not bringing individually acclaimed players into the squad.
“It is not the same club any more. I don’t recognize my club. There is a new owner and a new vision.” – said Drogba.
The Ivorian recalled the Roman Abrahamovic era when new signings needed to create an instant impact or else they would be thrown out of the side and stated that only Enzo Fernandez and Joao Felix are the ones who have helped Chelsea.
“Under Abramovich, 90% of the players coming in needed to perform straight away. And if you don’t, you are out. Now there is a group of players who arrived in January, except perhaps Enzo [Fernandez] and Joao Felix, that look like they are more for the future.
If we talk about Didier Drogba’s time with Chelsea then he won 12 major trophies in an 8-year period from 2004 to 2012. The 45-year-old won 4 Premier League & FA Cups alongside 3 EFL Cups and 1 UEFA Champions League title.
Drogba concluded by showing hopes that Chelsea will be back to the top next season. “People will make a lot out of this season for Chelsea because we’ve had so much success. The reality is that this club is going to be back.”
