Chennai Super Kings to fly to Dubai by 12th August on chartered flight

CSK IPL 2015

The BCCI along with the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has already started with the preparations of the IPL which will begin from September 19 this year. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel had also announced that all the franchises would be leaving for the training camps on August 20 next month.

However, the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings would be the first team to leave for UAE i.e., by August 11-12. As per the reports, the men in yellow will reach UAE by August 15 at the most and thereby start their training for the 13th edition of the IPL.

The CSK management is looking for the chartered flights for the players to fly to Dubai and all such arrangements will be finalised by the next week after IPL Governing Council’s meeting on Sunday.

“We are targeting to leave for Dubai with the entire squad by 8th Aug so that training camp can be organized for them before the end of 2nd week. Travel plans will be finalized once we receive instructions for BCCI on Do’s and Don’t”, said a CSK insider on condition of anonymity.

“In the circumstances, we are in, we will explore to book a chartered flight for the team. That will be the safest option in the current conditions” He further added.

CSK is not the only franchise that is looking to organize at least 2-3 weeks of training camps ahead of the IPL. Other teams are also in talks with the BCCI to go ahead with the same plan once they reach Dubai.

As of now the ICC’S state of the art academy in Dubai is being considered venue for conducting the IPL training camps for the teams and once the IPL Governing Council meeting is done, it will get the backing of the BCCI for the same.
