According to our sources in Germany, Bayern Munich number 10 Leroy Sane’s had a bleeding lip after a heated confrontation with team mate Sadio Mane. Other team members had to separate the two players in the locker room. On Tuesday night, when City defeated the German champions 3-0 at Etihad Stadium in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal, the two were spotted bickering on the pitch in the closing moments of the game.
Mane, a replacement for the match, was picked up privately from the airport after landing back in Munich, while Sane took the team bus. Bayern Munich has not responded to the event in any way. In the first leg of their quarterfinal Champions League match against Manchester City, the offensive duo were seen quarreling on the pitch. From there, it only got worse, reports further stated.
Mane and Sane are believed to have been separated by their teammates in the locker room following the physical altercation, which was brought on by Mane’s annoyance with the way he had been addressed during the game. The latter allegedly received instructions to wait outside.
The argument is reported to have started after Sane protested to Mane about an attempted run behind the defence in the 83rd minute. The Senegalese player was admonished aggressively by Sane that he should come up short. Bayern Munich has had an extraordinarily eventful season.
In the wake of reports of tension in the locker room, they recently fired Julian Nagelsmann and replaced him with Thomas Tuchel. Despite dominating the Bundesliga, they have struggled in domestic matches by their usual standards.
Sane apparently has a mark on his face from the blow, and Mane may be disciplined by the club for his behavior. The Bundesliga matchup between Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim is next on Saturday.
