Chamara Kapugedera is one of the popular and professional Sri Lankan cricket players. He is well known as the former ODI captain for the cricket matches played by Sri Lanka cricket team. In the Sri Lanka cricket team, he performs the role of middle-order batsman. He dropped out of the national cricket team in the year of 2010 and re-joined again in 2015. He was taken out for the only reason that he his not performing well in the matches.

The Sri Lankan cricket player Chamara Kapugedera was born at Kandy in Sri Lanka. He was born in the year of 1987 on the 24th of February to the Sri Lankan parents. He married Tamara Derak in the year of 2010. They are blessed with three children Akshan, Yenith, and Yhavin. Chamara Kapugedera is often called with the nickname Kapu.

Chamara Kapugedera’s Cricket Career

Chamara Kapugedera played his first debut match of ODI in 2006, against Australia. Kapugedera played is first test cricket with England in 2006. He was successful in his cricket career after playing in an awesome way against Australia. In the year of 2009, he played his 2nd ODI against Pakistan, making Sri Lanka win the match.

Chamara played international cricket match for the first time in 2007 World Cup match and was successful in it. In 2010 ICC World Twenty20 match, he performed remarkably well and gained the fame.
