Border-Gavaskar Trophy : "Feels good to wear the Indian jersey after 5 months" - says Ravindra Jadeja

When India hosts Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 on February 9, one of cricket’s most brutal rivalries will restart. The four-match test series will begin in Nagpur, with the subsequent tests taking place in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Ahmedabad.

The World Test Championship Finale, which will take place in the summer, has already qualified the Australians. And only a series victory over the Baggy greens for India will guarantee consecutive appearances in the WTC Final.

Spinners will continue to be important for both teams as usual. Australian players and legends have expressed their displeasure with the behavior of Indian pitches frequently during the tournament’s build-up. It will be interesting to see how the visitors respond if this scenario occurs.

One of the spinning option which is coming in for India during the Birder-Gavaskar trophy is All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja whose comeback is on the cards in this 4-match Test series. After picking up a fringe injury during Asia Cup 2022, the 34-year-old got ruled out of the remainder of the year and India had to pay for his absence in the ICC T20 World cup as well.

The Gujarat born cricketer will return to International circuit for the first time since last September and in a video uploaded by the BCCI, Jadeja expressed his pleasure to hit the ground once again and is fortunate to get another chance after a 5-month lay off from Cricket.

He thanked the Physiotherapists and the trainers he had at the NCA (National Cricket Academy) for their role in his recovery.
