Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023

The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur will host the start of the four-game Test series between India and Australia on February 9. Australia are getting ready for the Test assignment in a distinctive way after declining the proposal to play a few exhibition games on the subcontinent.

Australian batters have been preparing against Maheesh Pithiya, the off-“double,” spinner’s who has been flown to Bengaluru by the touring team as a net bowler, in order to offset the threat posed by Ravichandran Ashwin in the Test series.

In a practise video of the Australian cricket team, Pithiya can be seen bowling to the visiting squad in the nets. In a time where statements are coming from different legendary cricketers regarding and just ahead of Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Wasim Jaffer has also joined the row. Wasim Jaffer made fun of the visitors by claiming that even though the first Test is still a few days away, Ashwin is already on Australia’s mind.

Jaffer wrote, ”First Test is five days away and @ashwinravi99 is already inside Aus head #INDvAUS #BorderGavaskarTrophy”.

Ashwin, India’s top spinner, and Mahesh Pithiya remarkably resemble one other. According to reports, Pithiya’s bowling video was shared on social media with Australia’s support staff. Due to their startling resemblances, the touring team decided to transport the young player to Bangalore for a four-day training session at the Kanataka State Cricket Association facility.

In order to prepare for Ashwin’s threat, Australia is using Pithiya. The Australians see Ashwin as one of their major obstacles in their quest to win the Border-Gavaskar Test series in India.
