Bhuvneshwar Kumar just doesn’t want to play Test cricket anymore: Reports

When the Indian team for the tour of England was announced all eyes were raised on the exclusion of fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is one of the best swing bowlers in the world.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

As per the latest developments which have emerged related to Kumar where it is stated that the fast bowler is not interested in playing Test cricket now.

One of the sources close to the fast bowler said that the ace bowler wants to play Test cricket anymore and that his drive has gone missing.

The other factor might be Kumar is constantly struggling with an injury with the latest one he was affected in IPL 2021.

“[Bhuvneshwar Kumar is] focusing on the next T20 opportunities coming up…Bhuvneshwar just doesn’t want to play Test cricket anymore. That drive has gone missing. To be honest, the selectors don’t even see Bhuvi hungry for 10 overs, forget Test cricket. It’s Team India’s loss no doubt because if one bowler should have made it to England, it should have been him,” said the source as quoted by the Times Of India.

However, Kumar’s record in England has been sensational and on his last tour of England, he took 19 wickets from five matches wherein one of the matches he clinched six wickets. In 2018 he missed the tour due to injury but since then the pace bowler hasn’t played in the longest format of the game.

Kumar is still the first-choice bowler for Men in Blue when it comes to white-ball cricket due to his ability to swing balls in crunch moments of the game.
