It will be illegal to host the IPL 2021 here: Hampshire County Boss

IPL  which is regarded as one of the topmost T20 leagues in the world has been suspended for an indefinite period of time due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in India. As BCCI is looking to conduct the remaining matches of IPL 2021 in the future.

As per the latest developments, several English counties including the likes of MCC, Surrey, Warwickshire, and Lancashire have written a letter to ECB to conduct the remaining matches of IPL at their respective grounds.

However, in the latest turn of events, the possibility of hosting IPL in the UK has been postponed. The latest to join the discussion is Hampshire county’s boss who stated that it is illegal to host IPL here as a serious discussion is the need of an hour.

“I did hear about the discussion but I am not sure how it can happen. As per the current arrangement, it will be illegal to host the IPL here,” said Hampshire county boss as quoted by Cricbuzz.

As no official statement has been issued by MCC  and ECB yet. BCCI is yet to decide that whether the remaining matches of IPL 2021 will be conducted or not this year as the world richest cricket board has suffered a loss of INR 2500 crore for the suspension of IPL  and the T20 world cup which was supposed to be scheduled in India in October so far is also in trouble.
