Ben Stokes hits back at Kohli over his comment during the World Cup 2019

England all-rounder Ben Stokes said it was weird to see Virat Kohli complaining about the size of the Edgbaston cricket ground after India’s 31 run defeat to England in the World Cup 2019.

India after getting beaten by England lost its winning streak as England was so good in that mega event that they clinched World Cup trophy for the first time in 2019.

The against England could not resist India as they went on to play the semifinals match against New Zealand but unfortunately lost the game.

Coming back to the match that India played against England where the hosts scored 337 runs in 50 overs in reply Indian team batted well they fell short by 31 runs where India was bundled out on 331 runs.

Once the match was finished Kohli expressed his displeasure about the ground as he complained about the ground size where he stated “The toss was vital, especially looking at the boundaries that are this short. Bizarre that it just falls in place with the boundary limitations and with a flat pitch such as this. It’s crazy that things fall in place like that randomly. It’s the first time we are experiencing this,”

He further went on to add that “If batsmen can reverse sweep, sweep you for a six on a 59-meter boundary you can’t do much as a spinner. They had to be smarter with their lines as it was difficult to contain runs with one short boundary.”

After almost a year, Ben Stokes has responded against the statement made by Virat Kohli during that match where he said “If batsmen can reverse sweep, sweep you for a six on a 59-meter boundary you can’t do much as a spinner. They had to be smarter with their lines as it was difficult to contain runs with one short boundary.” Which he described in his book.
