Belarus defeated India by 2-1 in an epic clash

Indian women’s football team suffered a narrow loss against Belarus by 2-1 at the AGMK Stadiumin TashKent, Uzbekistan on Thursday.

While the game was evenly balanced in the first half but the second half was dominated by Belarus who took an early lead through penalty from Shuppo Nastassia and later she was complemented by Pilipenka Hanna in order to double the lead.

Taking about India’s point of view the only goal of the match for Blue Tigress was scored by Sangita Basfore in an added time.

After putting a spending performance in recently concluded match against Uzbekistan, India started on high tempo in the first half was looking to take lead in the first 3rd minute of the game by Soumya Gugloth’s  shot from outside the box which was struck by Belarus cross bar.

Anju Tamang was looking solid throughout the game against Belarus as she played at the full back position and tried making forays in the opposition area apart from playing an instrumental role in crucial blocks which will effect few turnovers in possession.

With around five minutes of regulation time left on the clock, India won a free-kick close to the Belarus area. Sangita Basfore stood over the dead ball, and put her laces through it, but her effort sailed inches wide.

India tried hard to make a comeback in the second half but ideally it was not possible as the exceptional game was displayed by Belarus in the crunch moments which ideally slipped the game away from Blue Tigress.
