'Bayern Munich desperate to win treble'- Serge Gnabry ahead of the Finals clash

German midfielder Serge Gnabry who netted two beautiful goals to take his team in the Champions League has said that his side is desperate to win this year’s treble. 

Bayern Munich defeated Lyon by 3-0 in the second semi-finals of the ongoing Champions League has been in an overwhelming form. They also handed a humiliating loss to the Barcelona 8-2 in the quarterfinals and seem unstoppable this season. 

After the semi-finals win Gnabry said that the side is going to give it all in order to win the Champions League title after seven years of wait. 

“Lyon put a lot of pressure on us and got behind our backline with their fast players. They also had some chances. We had a bit of luck at the beginning. Afterwards, we got into the game well and led 2-0 at halftime. In the end, Lewy made it 3-0. Lyon was very aggressive, they wanted to win,” Gnabry was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.

“You can’t always defend everything. We’re usually very strong at the back, upfront as well. We knew about the space behind their back five and tried to get in behind time and time again. That was the key to success, especially in the first half. We’re desperate to win the treble, and we’re going to give it our all on Sunday to win the final,” he added.

Gnabry doubled the side’s lead before the half time which was then followed by a beautiful header by Robert Lewandowski for the third goal in the 88th minute of the match. Munich maintained a clean-sheet at the end of the game and now they will face Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the finals on August 23 (Sunday).
