Serge Gnabry scores twice to lead Bayern Munich in the finals of Champions League

Bayern Munich’s golden run continued as they raced into the finals of the UEFA Champions League by defeating Olympique Lyonnais 3-0 on Thursday. Munich now has the chance to win their first Champions League title after the 2012-13 season after their victory in the second semi-finals.

Hansi Flick’s men showed their resilience and also went in full intent against Lyon to finish with a clean-sheet. Serge Gnabry scored the first goal in the 18th minute. Kimmich chipped the ball over Cornet before passing it to Gnabry for a beautiful first goal of the match.

Gnabry has scored against the big teams like Barcelona, Chelsea as well as Tottenham and also registered a goal against Lyon. Munich went on hard at the Lyon defenders, trying to keep the ball in their box most of the time.

Fifteen minutes later, Perisic gets space with the ball before he passes on to Lewandowski but somehow the ball didn’t cross the line despite the complete effort. Gnabry got the hold of the ball as he knicked it past the goal line for the second goal of the match.

Lyon’s helpless defence fell for Gnabry twice in the game and trailed by 2-0 before the half time. In fact, the second half portrayed the same story as Lyon couldn’t stop the red machine inch towards the finals.

The third goal of the game came off a brilliant header from Lewandowski in the 88th minute, giving a bone-shaking against the Lyon. Robert Lewandowski also scored an overall 55th goal of this season and 15th in the Champions League.

Bayern Munich is now scheduled to play against Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the finals of the Champions League on August 23 (Sunday)
