Bangladesh Bundle Out for just 106 runs in the First Innings, Ishant Picks 5

Ishant Sharma tore apart Bangladeshi lacklustre batting department, claiming 5 wickets as Bangladesh have been bundled out for just 106 in the first innings of India’s first-ever day-night test match.

Late Movement, Bounce and seam- we witnessed everything on the surface in the historical pink-ball test, courtesy a brilliant pace bowling display by the India trio. Having won the toss, Bangladesh skipper opted to bat first, however, once again, it backfired on them, as they lost as many as six wickets only in the first session of the test.

The bowling trio of Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma didn’t let a single batsman to get settle in the middle as they shared all 10 wickets between them.

Ishant Sharma got the first breakthrough in the form of Imrul Kayes, getting him leg before,  followed by a spectacular Rohit Sharma’s catch off Umesh, sending back Bangladesh’s skipper for a duck. Middle-order batsmen with the likes of Mohammad Mithun and Mushfiqur Rahim too didn’t last too long as both failed to open their accounts as well, leaving the tigers reeling for 26-4 in 12 overs.

However post Lunch, it was Ishant Sharma who stole the show, claiming 3 important wickets of Nayeem Husan, Ebadat Hossain and Mehidy Hassan. Not to mention Mohammad Shami’s brilliant exhibition of pace and pounce, creating pressure from the other end. He chipped in with two wickets in the first innings.

Bangladesh have been bundled out for 106-10 in 30.3 overs in the first innings.
