Badminton Asia Championships 2019:- Badminton has always been considered one of the most loved sports across the globe. The Badminton Asia championship is one of those tournaments which gets Organized in China in the month of April.

Even this year, the tournament will be organized at the Wuhan sports center gymnasium in China starting from 23 April till 28^th April 2019. Moreover, the tournament will be carrying prize money of $400,000.

History and Background of Badminton Asia Championship

The Tournament began in the year 1962 and is getting organized every year since then on an annual basis. Initially, the tournament did get played as a single and team competition and it was after the year 1994 when the team event has been scrapped from the tournament. Moreover, there was a bit of controversy ignited in the year 2003 when the Chinese team decided to pull out from the championship at the very last minute.

Moreover, there was a statement been released by the Chinese coach that the tournament did not reward any points for the 2004 summer Olympics event and they really wanted to give their players a bit of a rest by taking an off from the tournament. Additionally, there were few more players who opted to pull out from the event giving their own random reason in the same regards.

This year, the tournament will be seeing its 39^th edition whilst been held at the Wuhan Sports Gymnasium center in China. Moreover, the championship will be hosted by the Chinese badminton association as per the guidelines and permission from Badminton Asia.
