The decision is taken by FFA in consultation with its State and Terror Member Federations along with the national COVID 19 committee as this is the need of an hour as practicing or holding any activity under these circumstances would not be possible.

FFA chief executive officer James Johnson added: “There have been constant changes in the decision to suspend all the activities as Prime Minister enhanced more restrictions as the cases are constantly increasing in Australia so this decision was taken keeping every sphere in mind as safety is a most important thing considering the outbreak the situation has brought in the entire humanity”.

As the grassroots football practice will not take place it is better to engage players through online Skills hub which has been designed in association with Australia Nine Member Federations who have designed online packages in such a way so that players can sharpen their skills and can still be in touch with the game.

Initially, a virus that started from Wuhan, China has taken slowly and steadily all the countries and it extended to more than 200 countries and also claimed close to 40,000 lives all around the world and also the active cases are close to 7 lakh. Australia suspension of their football activities considering the impact of the situation is bang on and to the point as lockdown is the only possible solution to this problem considering the outbreak of the situation.
