As the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, nears its conclusion, the penultimate day promises an action-packed lineup for Indian sports enthusiasts. The day will witness intense battles in archery, cricket, kabaddi, wrestling, soft tennis, canoe sprint, sport climbing, ju-jitsu, volleyball, roller skating, badminton, and chess, with India aiming to add more gold and silver medals to its tally.

Archery

The Indian compound archery team, after securing three gold medals, will strive for more success. Aditi Swami will compete in the bronze medal match for the Compound Women’s Individual event against Ratih Zilizati Fadhly from Indonesia.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam will contend for gold in the Compound Women’s Individual against So Chae-won from Korea. Ojas Deotale will represent India in the Compound Men’s Individual gold medal match against Abhishek Verma.

Sport Climbing

Shivani Charak and Saniya Farooque Shaikh will participate in the Women’s Boulder & Lead Semifinal – Boulder event.

Ju-Jitsu

Uma Maheshwar, Amarjeet Singh (men’s 85kg), and Kiran Kumari (women’s 63kg) will compete in the Elimination rounds.

Canoe Sprint

Hitesh Kewat and Subham Kewat will participate in the Men’s Kayak Semifinal.

Kabaddi

The Indian men’s kabaddi team will face Iran in the gold medal match, while the women’s team will compete against Chinese Taipei for the gold.

Soft Tennis

Raga Sri Manogarbabu will play in the Women’s Singles Quarterfinals and, if qualified, in the Semifinals. Aniket Patel will compete in the Men’s Singles Second Stage.

Volleyball

The women’s volleyball team will compete against Hong Kong in the 9th-10th Classification match.

Roller Skating

Sai Samhitha Akula and Greeshma Dontara will participate in the Ladies Artistic Single Free Skating Long Program Final.

Wrestling

Deepak Punia (86kg), Vicky Chahar (97kg), and Sumit Malik (125kg) will be in action in the Men’s Freestyle Eliminations. If qualified, they will compete in the Medal Rounds later in the day.

Badminton

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will contest the Men’s Doubles Gold Medal Match against Choi Sol-gyu & Kim Won-ho from Korea.

Chess

The Men’s and Women’s Team will compete in Round 9 for a medal. The Men’s Team includes Gukesh D, Vidit Gujrathi, Arjun Erigaisi, Pentala Harikrishna, and Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa. The Women’s Team comprises Koneru Humpy, Harika Dronavalli, Vaishali Rameshbabu, Vantika Agrawal, and Savitha Shri B.

Cricket

The men’s cricket team will vie for the gold medal against Afghanistan.

Hockey

The women’s hockey team will aim to finish on a high note by securing the bronze medal when they face Japan.
