Amidst Coronavirus outbreak, Virushka comes to the fore

The deadly Coronavirus pandemic has led the world economy to come to a standstill. The disease has affected all aspects of life, taking a toll on people across the globe.

All the cricket tournaments in India and across the globe have either been called off or postponed to a later date. The India-South Africa ODI series was called off, following by the suspension of Indian Premier League.

Amidst the outrage, many sports personalities have been making efforts to spread awareness and encourage people to fight the disease together.

The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Saina Nehwal etc have all come forward to do their bit in spreading awareness amongst the youth. The recent to join the bandwagon is Virushka who recently posted a video in a bid to combat the disease.

“We know we are all going through a very difficult time and the only way to stop the Coronavirus is by acting together. We are staying at home for out safety and for everyone else as well and you should do it too to prevent the further spread of the virus. Let’s make it safe for us and everyone else by self-isolation. Stay home and stay healthy.” Virat and Anushka said in a video.

On the professional front, Virat Kohli has been suffering from a dismal run of form. The Indian skipper accumulated only 38 runs in four innings in the recently concluded test series. In the ODI series, Kohli’s scores read 51, 15 and 9.

The Indian skipper has been suffering from a lean patch from a while now, having not struck a century in 20 innings across formats since 2019.

With the India-South Africa series called off, Virat Kohli will be seen next leading RCB in IPL. He would be hoping to help his side claim their maiden IPL title. But the big question, however, is whether the world’s premier 20 franchise league will happen this year or not, given how the Covid-19 outbreak has affected the sporting events lately.
