Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Yesterday’s ODI match between Afghanistan and Pakistan was certainly a brilliant ODI match. Over 600 runs were scored in the 100 overs. The biggest highlight of the match was the 151-run innings of Rahmanullah Gurbaz. He ensured that he went on to take the team to a healthy total without losing many wickets. However, still, Pakistan was able to snatch the victory from the Afghanistan team.

Contribution of Rahmanullah Gurbaz:

The contribution of Rahmanullah Gurbaz was certainly brilliant. He played the best inning of his career. He made sure that he kept on rotating the strike, and at the same time he also ensured that his team got a great opening stand. But one batter cannot make the team win. This match has certainly become an example of that.

  • Afghanistan batted first, and they were ready to set a big target in front of Pakistan. Afghanistan had the best opening partnership of their cricket history. They had a partnership of 227 runs. Nobody was expecting this partnership from them, because Pakistan is a far stronger team.
  • After Zabran got out, Gurbaz continued to perform well, and he took the team’s total to 256 runs. Once Gurbaz was out, the batters from the team were not able to perform with a good strike rate.
  • In the end, the total of Afghanistan’s team was 300 runs, even though it could have been more.
  • Pakistan started off pretty well. They had an opening partnership of 52 runs. The 3rd wicket partnership was even bigger. Imam-Ul-Haq and Babar Azam took the score to 170 runs. They were able to reach 170 only in the 31st over.
  • The last few overs got even more exciting because, in the last 2 balls, 3 runs were required.
  • Naseem Shah got a brilliant four on the second last ball, which made Pakistan win the game.
