Legendary players of T20 World Cup 2024

The ninth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in the West Indies and USA this year. For the first time 20 teams will participate in this tournament. Cricket boards of all countries have to send their final squad to the ICC by 25 May 2024.

Some countries have not yet announced their initial squad, while many countries have announced it, in which the names of some players are visible for whom the upcoming World Cup may be the last. The next edition is to be held in 2026. In this article, we are going to tell about 5 such major players, who may be a part of the T20 World Cup for the last time.

These 5 players may be seen playing the T20 World Cup for the last time

 5. Moeen Ali (England)

England’s experienced all-rounder Moeen Ali will be seen playing the World Cup once again in 2024. Ali has played 22 T20 World Cup matches since 2014, in which he has 254 runs and 12 wickets in his name. 36-year-old Moeen Ali has performed very well across the world in the T20 format, but considering his age and performance, it would not be wrong at all to say that he will be seen playing the T20 World Cup for the last time this year.

4. David Miller (South Africa)

South Africa’s David Miller, one of the world’s most explosive batsmen in T20 cricket, will also be seen playing the World Cup in 2024. However, it is believed that he may be seen playing in this tournament for the last time this year. Let us tell you that 34-year-old Miller has played 18 T20 World Cup matches since 2014, in which he has scored 254 runs.

3. Tim Southee (New Zealand)

New Zealand’s experienced fast bowler Tim Southee is also going to be seen playing in the T20 World Cup 2024. He has played 22 matches in the tournament since 2010, in which he has taken 29 wickets. Many new fast bowlers have arrived in New Zealand for some time now and due to playing other formats also, Saudi may find himself sidelined from the shortest format after this time’s World Cup.

2. Virat Kohli (India)

India’s best batsman and former captain Virat Kohli is also a part of the Indian team in the  World Cup 2024. He represented India for the first time in the World Cup in 2012. Since then, he has been continuously seen playing for the Indian team in all editions. Kohli has played 27 matches so far in his World Cup career, in which he has scored a total of 1141 runs. However, for some time now, questions have been raised regarding his strike rate and many young batsmen in the Indian team are also doing well. In such a situation, there is little possibility that Kohli will play the next edition.

1. Rohit Sharma (India)

The current captain of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma is the only Indian player who has participated in all the 8 editions from 2007 to 2022. Apart from this, he is also going to represent as well as captain the Indian team in 2024. Rohit is also the player who has played the most matches in T20 World Cup history. 37-year-old Rohit has played a total of 39 T20 World Cup matches so far in which he has scored 963 runs. Considering his age and ordinary performance for some time now, it is expected that Hitman may be seen in the World Cup for the last time.
