15 year old Indian golfer Avani Prasanth, created history after she became the youngest player to represent country in the upcoming Asian games 2022

Golf may not be the most popular game in India but our players who play this game professionally knows how to create impressions in the mind of ardent sports fans with their impeccable skills and the latest testimony to verify this statement is about Indian women golfer Avani Prasanth who is only 15 years old and created history by becoming the youngest player to represent the country in the upcoming Asian Games scheduled in Hangzhou China from 10th September 2022 to 25th September 2022.

 

Many experts in the past have called this bright young player as “Child Prodigy” the last time this statement was used for someone like Sachin Tendulkar when he debut for India at the age of 16 years old.

Avani was involved in a tough competition which ran for five days among 11 women golfers who were playing against each other for one berth to occupy for the upcoming Asian Games at Karnataka Golf Academy(KGA).

She kept her composure in the crunch moments of the game and ensured that she remains sufficiently hydrated and shot a steady final round of 1-under 71 and finished at first position.

The next women golfer in the standings was Jahanvi Bakshi and after the completion of final four rounds, Avani had a score of 14-under 274 which made her the winner of the qualifying round.

Also with this feat, she joins the elite list of women golfer including the likes of Olympian Aditi Ashok and Tvesha Malik to book their spot in the upcoming Asian games.

Previously the youngest golfer record was achieved by Aadil Bedi who was 17 years old when he represented India in Asian games 2018.

Entire countrymen fell in love with Aditi Ashok’s performance in the recently concluded Olympics where she finished at fourth position and now Avani’s feat will add one more reasons for Indian golf fans to love the game.

Very few people would be aware about the fact that she was also invited to participate in the Augusta National Women’s amateur which is touted as the highest powered amateur women’s tournament in the world and it was held at Augusta Golf Club in Georgia USA where top golf players in the past like-Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods have played at this iconic venue.
