Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he received a big number of offers before joining AC Milan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has returned to AC Milan and has signed a half year deal with the Seria A side.

Ibrahimovic previously spent two seasons at the Milan club, after initially joining them on a season-long loan from Barcelona in August 2010 and has been so sharp in front of the goal during that spell.

The superstar striker scored 56 goals in 85 games in his first spell at San Siro, winning Milan’s most recent Serie A title in the 2010-11 campaign.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed that he has been a subject of interest in the transfer market and received so many offers.

He says, ‘At 38, I have received more offers than at 28,’ he told reporters. ‘The last time I left AC Milan, it was without my approval but the situation was what it was… the important thing is that I am here now.”

‘Each year is different, physically you change with every year that goes by,’ he added. ‘But experience teaches you to do things differently, if you’re an intelligent player you know what you can and cannot do… instead of running, I can shoot from long distance.’

AC Milan is enduring a tough run of form as they sit 11th in the Serie A standings after a 5-0 humiliation at the hands of newly emerged Serie A powerhouse Atlanta. They will return to action at home to Sampdoria on Monday night.

It’s believed that Ibrahimovic’s return and his influence could spark the beginning of good days at AC Milan, the club which is going through a transition period.

He said he would not go easy on his younger teammates.

‘I’m meaner than before,’ he said. ‘They know what I am like, how I train and play each match.

‘You have to work hard. You have to know how to suffer, otherwise, you don’t reach your maximum potential. Not everyone likes to suffer but I do… and I expect a lot from my teammates.’

AC Milan’s next match is at home to Sampdoria in Serie A on Monday night although there was no mention of whether Ibrahimovic, who has not played since the month of October, would make his debut that quickly.
