Yesterday’s ODI match held between Zimbabwe and Pakistan will be remembered for years to come as Zimbabwe who were considered as minions against mighty Pakistan in their backyard defeated latter in a scintillating Super Over Contest by chasing down paltry of 3 runs at Pindi Stadium. However, there is one more interesting facts that surfaced which is certainly coincidental and it is about Zimbabwe player misfield during last phase of Pakistan innings where the match was tied and resulted into Super Over to decide the eventual winner. However Muzarbani bowled superbly in Super Over to restrict Pakistan to only 2 runs when they came to out to bat. In reply Zimbabwe chase down the target where the wining runs came from Sikander Raza’s bat after the misfield from Pakistan Skipper Babar Azam. However Pakistan won the 3 match ODI series series by 2-1.

Taking about the match Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat first where they scored 278 runs at the loss of six wickets due to individual brilliance of Sean Williams who scored unbeaten 118 runs and was complemented by Brendan Taylor and Sikandar Raza who scored 56 and 45 runs respectively. In reply, Pakistan Skipper Babar Azam stood strong as he scored his 12 ODI century after scoring 125 runs along with handy contribution from Wahab Riaz and Khushdil Shah who scored 52 and 33 runs at the back end resulted Pakistan scoring 278 runs in their fifty over quota at the loss of 9 wickets. It was the second ODI super over contest in the history of Cricket first being the famous 2019 Cricket World Cup final between New Zealand and England.

The way Zimbabwe has played in the ODI tournament against Pakistan in absence of their Head Coach Lalchand Rajput shows that these players means business and the recent statement came from Sean Williams justifying their emotions where he said after winning the match that “We have been tired after getting beaten all the time its time that we take confidence from this victory and take Zimbabwe Cricket forward to another level”. Zimbabwe will take on Pakistan for three-match upcoming T20 series starting from  7th November 2020.
