“Your career is over” Sehwag reveals funny incident involving Tendulkar and Akhtar during cricket match in Lucknow

It’s not an ideal time for India- Pakistan Cricket rivalry as these two don’t face each other in bilateral series post-2013.

The most recent match between these two dominant teams took place in 2012 and was won by Men in Green under difficult Indian conditions.

Virender Sehwag, a former captain of India and fierce batter, recalls a humorous incident involving Shoaib Akhtar and Sachin Tendulkar in 2005.

Sehwag, narrated the entire incident which unfolded in Lucknow, where India and Pakistan players participated in the party and started exchanging greetings with each other.

Akhtar was trying to lift Sachin on his shoulders but couldn’t do that to which Sehwag said “Tendulkar carried the hope of billions on his shoulders due to which he was extremely heavy”.

When Sehwag narrated the entire incident, even the anchor laughed.

“In a party that was held for Indian and Pakistani cricketers in Lucknow, Akhtar had one too many drinks and he tried to lift Tendulkar. However, Tendulkar was quite heavy for him, and both of them ended up falling on the ground. I could not stop laughing at the incident,” Sehwag said at News 18 Chaupal.

Sehwag also said, Tendulkar still jokes him telling that latter jokes with Akhtar that his career is over also Pakistan Cricket Team management was worried , Indian players might complain to BCCI but that didn’t happened at all.

Sehwag further revealed that, the bond these two shared off the field is special in comparison to on field rivalry where the pressure is immense and no teams want to lose against the latter.

Whenever we visited Pakistan we were welcomed with hospitality and grace and they also received the same reception in India.

In the ongoing year, Asia Cup is the next big thing where these two teams will compete against each other in the latter’s backyard.

The same year, World Cup will be held in India where Men in Green would be travelling in Indian conditions to give tough fight to all opponents.
