Wrestlers protest : Watch exclusive videos of Delhi Police man handling protesters at Jantar Mantar last night!

The tussle between India’s medal winning wrestlers and the Country’s apex wrestling governing body Wrestling Federation of India’s president Brij Bhushan Singh Sharan is far from getting over as another chapter was added last night at the Jantar Mantar protesting site.

In their latest allegation, the Wrestlers claimed that Delhi Police officials manhandled and physically assaulted them as they tried to get folding beds inside the area due to the wet streets caused by relentless rain at New Delhi. The incident took place last night when AAP MLA Somnath Bharti was trying to accommodate folding beds for the Wrestlers.

However, Delhi Police kept them away from entering the protest zone because they did not have permission and the DCP explained that a minor altercation took place right after the truck full of beds was unloaded. “During the protest at Jantar Mantar, along with folding beds without permission. On intervention, the supporters became aggressive and tried to get the beds out of the truck.” – Delhi Police DCP Pranav Tayal said.

On one side were the Protesters while on the other side were Delhi Police. While the protesters were trying to get the beds inside and above the Delhi police barricades. While the officials tried to stop the protesters, Wrestler Sangeeta Phogat’s brother Dushyant Phogat was attacked by Delhi Police which caused a serious concussion on his head.

At first, Delhi Police did not file an FIR against Brij Bhushan Singh and now they are trying to attack the Wrestlers. Commonwealth Games gold medalist Vinesh Phogat came out and expressed herself, stating that in a situatuion like this, no athlete should win a medal for the country and also pledged of returning every medal she has ever won.

She seemed pretty helpless as she appealed for national attention into this matter.
