In just 3 days time, the first ever Women’s Premier League begins with Gujarat Giants taking on Mumbai Indians Women for the opening match of the tournament. The WPL is a revamped version of IPL Women’s T20 Challenge which began in 2018 and lasted for another 3 seasons.

4 March 2023 will mark the beginning of Indian women’s cricket revolution and the league is expected to amass plenty of viewership and also increase the quality of Cricket in Women’s category. The league will benefit many Female cricketers and provide them a great talent to nurture their talent.

Both Indian and foreign players will have a crucial month in the WPL and a player from associate nation USA – Tara Norris is eagerly waiting to learn a lot from the Women’s Premier League. During the WPL Auction, Norris was bought for her base price of 20 Lakhs INR to the Delhi Capitals.

The 24-year-old Philadelphia born Left arm pacer made her senior debut for the United States of America in October 2021 and has played county cricket for Sussex Women in England. In 5 WT20I matches, Tara Norris took 4 wickets and she will be an important asset for Delhi Capitals’ Women who will face Royal Challengers Bangalore Women on March 5.

Ahead of the inaugural edition, Tara Norris opened up about her excitement and expectations from the WPL 2023. The 24-year-old is expecting to train alongside and play against some of the biggest stars in Women’s cricket. She will share the dressing room and rub shoulders with players like Alice Capsey, Meg Lanning and Jemimah Rodrigues among others.

“There are quite a few world-class players and luckily I’ll get to train with some of them and hopefully play against a few of them. I am looking to learn and embrace as much as I can.”

“I definitely want to do all the associate nations proud. I have a voice for those players. A lot of girls struggle with funding and facilities. I want to raise awareness for the associates and hopefully next year, more players will be involved.” – said Tara Norris.
