Weekly Sports Update- Part10.

If you leave aside Corona Virus everything was going great for the sporting world. But this outbreak has impacted all sports events to a great extent. Some of the players, ex-players, coaches are being tested positive for this virus. Let’s have a look at the impact that these virus has created on certain sports i.e chess as well let’s celebrate the glory of India’s ace paddler “Achanta Sharath Kamal” who clinched a new title in Table Tennis for India.

1. The outbreak of the Corona Virus has impacted all sports events. Let’s have a look at the impact that it has brought on chess tournaments.
2. Five-Time World Champion Vishwanathan Anand who was playing for SC Baden OOO in the Bundesliga Chess was scheduled to return from Germany on Monday(March 16).
3. But the crisis has left Anand with no choice than to stay in Germany.
4. Anand is staying in Germany from February Onwards has gone into self-isolation.
5. Anand quoted “For the First time in life I have been forced to go for self-isolation like others”.
6. However, Anand is likely to come back to Chennai at the end of this month.
7. Aruna his wife stated “ I feel awful that he is there. But we have to be thankful that his situation is better than many people who are living there”.
8. Anand also added, “Through video call, we get to talk to each other and that is how we share happiness nowadays”.

Sharath Kamal

1. Indian ace table tennis player “Achanta Sharath Kamal” wins Oman Title at the age of 37.
2. He defeated top seed “Marcos Freitas” to win his first tour tie after 10 years at the Oman Open In Muscat on Sunday.
3. The 37 Year old paddler beat world No 26 Portuguese 6-11,11-8,12-10,11-9,3-11,17-15 in the summit clash.
4. Sharath lost his first game due to Freitas’s brilliance where he executed the backhand push perfectly.
5. He also added “I was not connecting my shots perfectly. But I knew where I had to make the amends. I just had to get into the rhythm”.
6. Sharath’s father Srinivasa Rao, who is his coach also said “ The only thing on which we have worked is Sharath attitude and approach. Rest his hunger to play for India differentiate him from others”.
