Watch Virat Kohli produce a Satiric celebration after scoring his first Boundary in 81 balls

Virat Kohli

Star Indian batter Virat Kohli was in utter delight after pushing the ball towards the boundary line on Day 2 as it took him 81 balls to do so. The West Indies bowling line-up were not looking to let Kohli get in his rhythm and they were putting constant pressure before the 34-year-old released it all by playing a trademark cover drive.

He came on to the pitch at the expense of Skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill who is now filling up for the dropped Cheteshwar Pujara at Number 3. Kohli in his usual position came in at 4 when India were 240 for 2 with a lead of 90 runs.

It took Virat Kohli a little bit of time to settle in but at Stumps on Day 2, he had spent enough time to build up- on his innings. Jomel Warrican and Alick Athanaze were the only 2 bowlers to pick a wicket each and it was off the former’s delivery that Kohli drove his bat through the covers for a four.

Following his 81st delivery Four, Kohli raised his fist in a satiric celebration of breaking a Jinx. It will be a historic day at Dominica as Yashasvi Jaiswal is closing in on his 150 with Virat Kohli only 14 runs shy off his Half-century.

India are currently 312/2 with a lead of 162, expected to stretch further more as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli have just settled in. The latter is on 36 off 96 deliveries while Jaiswal is on 143 off 350 with 14 Fours.

Early on in the Indian 1st Innings, Rohit Sharma had smacked 103 before gloving away a ball by spinner Alick Athanaze. Then number 3 Shubman Gill after sweeping the ball for a four, was caught in the 2nd slip thanks to a flighted delivery by Jomel Warrican.

On Day 3, India will look to gain a decent lead and declare without a 2nd thought as a victory at Dominica is knocking at the Door.
