Watch : Ravi Bopara smack 144 off 49 to help Sussex register 324 runs in 20 Overs!

38-year-old London born Veteran English Batter Ravi Bopara smashed an outstanding knock during Second Eleven T20 Championship. Bopara who plays for Sussex in the domestic T20 tournament, went on to score 144 runs off just 49 deliveries.

In just 7 overs, Ravi Bopara was able to thrash opposing bowlers from Middlesex at the Richmond Cricket Club. His blistering innings included 26 boundaries in total and it was one of those knocks that are rarely on display. An inning like this was last seen during the Indian Premier League season 2013 when Chris Gayle dropped a frightening knock of 175 off 66 balls against Pune Warriors India.

But in England, thee type of knocks do not come every day. Ravi Bopara and his efforts took his side’s total to 324 runs within 20 overs by losing just 7 wickets. For a fact, at times the target of 324 gets difficult for team’s to chase in ODI 50-over cricket and it was totally unrealistic to think that 325 could be chased in 20 overs.

Even if Middlesex wanted to chase down that total, they would have needed a Ravi Bopara from Sussex. The 38-year-old batted at a fiery strike rate of 293.8 to break the backbone of Middlesex’s bowling unit. He went on to hit 14 Fours and 12 Sixes in his firepower inning.

Other than him, TP Alsop and GHS Garton scored quickfire Half-centuries to help Sussex consolidate their position in the match.
