Hindustan Times in its report quoted Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika as saying that Gujarat Police officials indicated that the primary reason for RCB canceling its practice session and the two sides not holding a press conference was the security threat to Virat Kohli. Police reportedly recovered weapons, suspicious videos and text messages after searching the hideout of the four accused.

The report also states that the information was shared with RR and RCB. RR did not take action, but RCB informed the security personnel that there would be no practice session. The report claims that RCB did not give any official reason for its sudden decision to cancel the practice session.

In this case, police officer Vijay Singh Jwala said, “Virat Kohli came to know about the arrests after reaching Ahmedabad. His safety is our top priority. RCB did not want to take the risk.
