Virat Kohli plays Football like it’s a World Cup final: Nasser Hussain

Virat Kohli Most Runs in T20I

Former English cricketer, Nasser Hussain has recently lauded Virat Kohli’s hunger for winning matches and scoring runs. According to him, the Indian skipper plays every match with full intensity and gives his heart and soul into it, no matter what the sports are. And this is perhaps one of the reasons why he is considered to be arguably the best batsman of the current era.

Virat Kohli

I think it’s his hunger for runs and his wanting to win. I watched him play football before, and sometimes football bands etc. The Indian team plays football, and he plays as if it’s the World Cup final, the FA Cup final, the last game in the Premier League,” Hussain said on Star Sports show “cricket connected”

Hussain has been impressed with his focus and dedication towards whatever he does as his immense ability to focus is one of the reasons why he is a master at chasing totals.

He takes that into cricket, that’s why he’s so brilliant in a run chase. You give him a situation where he could win a game, whatever that game is, and that is all he is focused on. His drive for winning is second to none,” he added.

I honestly believe that he’s not worried about stats or the only stats, that he’s worried about is the win-loss ratio,” he said.

Virat Kohli, today, is considered as batting run machine, having piled on nearly 20,000 runs in International cricket. Virat Kohli has made India a force to reckon with in the Test cricket, having taken India to the numero-uno position in the world rankings.

However, as far as the limited over’s cricket is concerned, he still has a lot to prove. The Indian captain would currently be eying on the 2020 T20 World Cup but would first be hoping for everything to come to normal, given the deadly Coronavirus has put sporting action to a halt.
