The modern-day great seems to be in a hurry in breaking all the cricket records possible. He amassed 1322 runs in 13 test matches at an average of 55.08 including 5 hundred and 5 fifties.

In ODI format, the batting swordsman has cashed in 1202 runs in 14 ODI’s at an average of 133.56 with the help of 6 hundred and 3 fifties. He also scored 211 runs in 10 T20 matches, which brings the total to 2735 international runs in 2018.

He has also been named the captain of the year for both the formats (tests and ODI) for his exceptional captaincy in 2018. Virat Kohli is extremely overwhelmed by the pouring motivating and congratulatory messages from the fans on social media after him winning the ICC test, ODI player and cricketer of the year.

He quoted to ICC “It feels amazing. It’s a reward for all the hard work that you do throughout the calendar year. I feel really grateful and very, very happy with the team doing well at the same time myself performing. Having recognition at the global level from the ICC is something you feel proud of as a cricketer because you understand that there are many players playing the game,” Kohli was quoted as saying by icc-cricket.com.

“To be rewarded in this manner from amongst all of them is obviously a very proud moment for me and something that gives you more motivation to keep repeating the same things because you have to keep the standard of cricket up and keep bringing inconsistent performances. From that point of view, these awards give you that extra motivation,”
