Early Life

Another one of the famous cricketers to have come out of Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand, Vaughan Brown was known as one of the best cricketers in the area from quite a young age. He was born on 3rd November 1959. He held interests in cricket from a quite young age and started playing when he was very young, quickly rising in fame in the locality.

Domestic Career

One of the very best players to have played in the 1970 decade, this awesome player was quite often in the Top 10 of the domestic rankings, due to the fact that he was one of the most prolific players of the last century. A left-handed batsman and right arm off break bowler, his prowess at both were quite well known, with him playing 83 matches for Canterbury and Auckland, taking 190 wickets, a quite good record.

International Career

Selected for the Young New Zealand Zimbabwe Tour in 1984, he proceeded to go there with the entire Test team in 1985. He was picked for the 1st Test Match at Brisbane, and this was one of the most successful matches of his career, as he outshone almost all of the other players, including Hadlee, a legend proper, taking the one wicket he did not along with holding three matches.
