Vandana Katariya Personal Life

Vandana Katariya is born on 15th April 1992 in Roshanabad Haridwar Uttar Pradesh (now in Uttrakhand).
Vandana’s Father Nahar Singh works as technician in Bharat Heavy Electrician Limited. She came from humble background and became top player in the current Indian lineup.
She made her Junior debut in 2006 with her immaculate consistency and performance at junior level earned a position for her at the senior level and finally she made her debut for India in 2010 since then there has been looking back for the ace forward player.

Vandana Katariya Professional Life

Vandana Katariya was part of Indian squad who clinched bronze medal in 2013 Junior World Cup held at Germany. She scored 5 goals in 4 games for India in that marquee event was India’s top scorer.
Post that victory she said in an interview regarding her feelings about winning bronze medal in different media outlets.
“It has to be when we won the bronze medal at the World Cup in Germany. My father was called by the media and he had tears in his eyes. So, making my father proud is the best moment of my hockey career”.
She played her 100th game for India in 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games against Canada.
She received an opportunity to lead India in 2016 for the test series against Australia.
In 2021 she was appointed as brand ambassador for the Centre’s initiative for “Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao Andolan”.

In 2014, Vandana Katariya also won the 2014-15 FIH Hockey World League by scoring with 11 goals.
