“Umar Akmal was a brilliant cricketer but he wasted his talent” said Former PCB President Ramiz Raja on star batter

Umar Akmal

The Pakistan Super League is currently in the midst of yet another fantastic season, with several players exhibiting their abilities on a large scale.

The supposedly popular franchise Karachi Kings is having a terrible time in current ongoing championship, and whether the year may have changed or not, their results have remained the same.

If they don’t swiftly get back into their rhythm, it will be too late for them.

Again, the Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans are peaking at the proper time of the competition.

Everything about Pakistani cricket is thrilling; a good three-hour movie about the players and coaches in Pakistan, who never have a dull moment, could be made.

Another sensational revelation has been added to the environment of Pakistan cricket.

Ramiz Raja, the former president of the PCB, is currently featured on Bol News, discussing Umar Akmal.

“The story of Umar Akmal serves as a prime illustration for all cricketers that, regardless of talent or match-winning prowess, nothing will matter if you don’t change with the times and improve your abilities. Thus, be sure to continue honing your skills as a cricket player “.Ramiz Raja told Bol News.

Umar Akmal was once compared to Kohli due to his innate batting ability and effortless shots to clear fences on most occasions but he wasn’t able to capitalize that status for long run.

Akmal ability to play spinners and fast bowlers with ease made him earn the tag but unfortunately, he couldn’t produce consistent performances when it mattered the most.

Before he was permanently shown doors from Pakistan Cricket, ace player represented his country across all three formats which include 16 Test matches, 121 ODI matches and 84 T2o Internationals where he amassed 1,003 runs, 3,194 runs and 1,690 runs respectively.

In his small International career, Akmal has clinched 34 half centuries which indicates that if everything would have gone in his favor he would have made it big in International Cricket.

He is not part of PSL anymore and the learning from his story “No matter how talented you are if you don’t work hard you will perish soon”.
