The Olympics, the summer extravaganza of sports, are to be held in Japan this year. The Olympic Games will be hosted in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, from July 24 to August 9. Special arrangements are being made for Muslim sportspersons and Muslim fans coming to watch this competition in this biggest event of the game. According to the information, a mobile mosque truck will be arranged so that Muslim players and fans do not have much trouble in searching for the mosque to offer prayers during the event of the game.mosque on wheel

Prayer rooms will be available in the under-construction sports village before the start of the Olympics. However, in some places, it may not. The capital of Japan lacks hotels and public areas for prayer sites. For these reasons, a mobile mosque has been arranged. It will have 48 square meters of space for offering Namaz. The back of the mobile mosque can be widened. It will have taps for hand and foot washing before offering prayers.

The Yasu Project, the organisation behind the enterprise, plans to pitch up outside venues during the July 24 to Aug 9 Games. Its chief executive Yasuharu Inoue hopes athletes and supporters alike will use the truck.mobilemosque

“I want athletes to compete with their utmost motivation and for the audience to cheer on with their utmost motivation as well. That is why I made this,” he said on Wednesday.

“I hope it brings awareness that there are many different people in this world and to promote a non-discriminatory, peaceful Olympics and Paralympics,” said Yasuharu Inoue.

Further the Tokyo 2020 organizers have also said that they were looking at various avenues to provide appropriate facilities for all religious groups.

In an email to leading news agency Reuters, the Tokyo Organising committee said,

“The Organising Committee is preparing a list of religious or faiths centers that could be contacted or visited if requested by residents of the Villages during the Games. In the Games’ venues, multi-faith prayer spaces for athletes and spectators are under consideration in venue operations planning.”
