A few of the top-seeded and exciting prospects are going to miss out on the tournament due to unfortunate injuries. Three women’s players who will miss the Italian Open 2024 are mentioned below.

1. Jessica Pegula (USA)

The world number five tennis player as per the ATP rankings, Jessica Pegula, is going to continue to sit out of action in this upcoming tournament. She is currently undergoing rehabilitation for her previous injury and was hoping to be fit for this tournament but could not get ready.

There are not many details on her recovery, but she mentioned on her social media handles that she will be ready for the French Open 2024 and compete there in full swing. Pegula is among the players who have played some sensational tennis in the past few tournaments.

2. Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic)

Another tennis star who has withdrawn from the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome is Karolina Pliskova. Plsikova could not play in the Madrid Open either due to a knee injury and will stay out of the Italian Open as well.

Plsikova, who is a two-time Grand Slam runner-up, has not had a very good season so far this year. She is hopeful of a comeback at the French Open in 2024, though.

3. Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic)

The latest player to take her name out of the draw for the Italian Open is Karolina Muchova. Muchova has been struggling with a wrist injury for quite a few months now, which has kept her out of the action this whole season. She had surgery done in February but is still undergoing rehabilitation.

Muchova was the runner-up at the French Open last year, and it is highly likely that she might not even participate in the tournament this time around.
