“This will be life changing for me”- Digvijay Deshmukh after getting picked in IPL 2020 auctions

Young Indian cricketer Digvijay Deshmukh who was recently bought by the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auctions has reacted by saying that he feels this will be a life-changing moment of his life.

 “I feel that this will be a life-changing point for me. I was working so hard and I will continue giving my best in IPL. I always wanted to achieve my dreams. I only wanted to play cricket and I do not even feel like doing anything else till the time I achieve my goal. I will keep working hard.” He said in an interview.

Apparently, Mumbai Indians had bought him for 20 lakhs on 19 December this week from the list of the uncapped Indian players. Earlier, Digvijay had acted in the 2013 Bollywood movie “Kai Po Che”. He played the role of 14-year-old Ali as the movie around him and Sushant Singh Rajput. The young lad is now all set to make his IPL debut in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

“I was a professional cricketer and accidentally got the film, ‘Kai Po Che’. I had never dreamt that I would ever be in a movie. Actually I was practicing at that time and the assistant director came and auditioned 3-4 players, and they selected me,”  he added. 

The young pacer from Maharashtra also revealed that he draws inspiration from the current Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli. 

“Virat Kohli is my inspiration and role model. Everyone knows how hard-working he is, and whatever he has achieved is because of is hard work. So, he is my role model,” Deshmukh added. 

Digvijay had made his T20 debut for Maharashtra last month in November, playing for Maharashtra. Soon after getting picked by the Mumbai Indians in the auctions, Digvijay played his first Ranji Trophy match as he picked up six wickets and scored 83 in Maharashtra’s second innings against Jammu and Kashmir.
