“This Bowler will give Australian batters nightmare” reveals Watson ahead of India-Australia series

Shane Watson

The highly awaited series between India and Australia is scheduled to begin on February 9th, 2023 at Nagpur for the next Border-Gavaskar Trophy competition.

Players from both teams have been exchanging verbal blows, and Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is the most recent to jump on board, picking India as the favourite to win the series.

He cited Australia’s dangerous bowler Axar Patel as the series’ best performer and described him as such.

Watson talked about Axar in depth on Espn Cricinfo interview which states that the former angle makes it difficult forย  batters to pick his length especially in Indian conditions.

It is simple to choose the latter since, according to Watson, Jadeja is much closer to the stumps and he doesn’t produce that angle.

Axar delivers at all stumps most of the time, is taller, and throws the ball from a relatively high angle. He also has the capacity to skid certain balls, which can be problematic for some batters. The batter needs to modify his techniques when playing him because failing to account for his length would result in the batter’s departure.

Border- Gavaskar trophy in last two series in Australian conditions has been a grand spectacle considering the past track record where India managed to pull scintillating victory against Kangaroos.

Australia and India would certainly miss few key players in their arsenal with depth of talent both team possess it is going to be a cracking contest.
