Out of the 350 players participating in the Lankan Premier League 2023 Auction, some were selected by the franchises.

Top players who got high prices at the LPL 2023 auction

Chad Bowes

Galle Titans secured Chad Bowes for a whopping price of $58,000. The New Zealand player has been in impressive form since 2011. Previously associated with South African domestic cricket, he later moved to Canterbury and represented New Zealand. In T20 matches, he has scored 2,484 runs and hit 21 fifties in 93 matches. His dedication and hard work earned him a spot in the New Zealand national team, where he has scored 157 runs in T20 matches with a strike rate of 125.60.

Kamindu Mendis

Sri Lankan player Kamindu Mendis, known for his fantastic skills, was purchased by B-Love Kandy for a staggering $60,000. Despite not having played for the Sri Lankan national team yet, he has showcased his talent in domestic T20 matches. He has scored 1,064 runs in 46 innings from 55 games, maintaining a strike rate of 125.02. In the LPL, he has scored 88 runs in 7 innings across eight matches. Kandy invested in him, banking on his potential as one of the best all-rounders.

Dilshan Madushanka

Dilshan Madhushanka, an exceptional player in LPL 2023, was acquired by Jaffna Kings for an impressive $92,000. Known for his destructive pace, Madushanka boasts an impressive record in the Sri Lankan domestic circuit. Notably, in a challenging match against India in 2022, he took six wickets. This year, he will be leading Jaffna Kings in their quest to clinch the title in LPL 2023.

Binura Fernando

Dambulla secured Binura Fernando for a substantial sum of $76,000, making him the third most expensive player in LPL 2023. Fernando made his T20 debut in 2015 and has played 12 matches for Sri Lanka, taking 12 wickets with an economy rate of 8.06. In the LPL, he has taken 18 wickets in 12 games with an economy rate of 8.35. Notably, in 2022, Binura played a crucial role for Jaffna Kings, claiming 12 wickets in five matches with an economy rate of 7.10.
