Introduction of Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019
The Tamil Nadu Premier League also called as TNPL, in short, is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The league was created by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) in the year 2016.
Teams of Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019
There are eight teams that are competing in this league.
The respective teams are:
- Chepauk Super Gillies from the city Chennai coached by Vijay Shankar. The owner of the team is Hemang Badani -Metronation Chennai Television Private Limited – Dailythanthi.
- The next team is Lyca Kovai Kings from the city Coimbatore coached by Abhinav Mukund. The owner of the team is Monty Desai -Lyca Productions.
- Dindigul Dragons is another team from the city Dindigul coached by Ravichandran Ashwin and owned by M. Venkataramana Take Solutions Ltd.
- Trichy Warriors is a team that belongs to the city Tiruchirapalli coached by Baba Indrajith and owned by Tinu Yohannan- Ruby Builders.
- iDream Karaikudi Kaalai belonging to the town Karaikudi. This team is coached by Srikkanth Anirudha and owned by Subramaniam Badrinath owner of iDream Cinemas and iDream Properties.
- The next team is Siechem Madurai Panthers belongs to the city The team is coached by Rohit Damodaran and owned by Bharath Reddy of Pooja Damodaran.
- Tuti Patriots from the city of Tirunelveli Thoothukudi. The team is coached by Washington Sundar and is then owned by Ramaswamy Prasanna.
- The team V. B. Kanchi Veterans of the town Kanchipuram coached by Baba Aparajith Bharat Arun and Muttiah Muralitharan, owned by VB Chandrasekhar.
Details of Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019
- This takes place in the country India, in the state of Tamil Nadu. The administrator is TNCA, and they follow the format of Twenty20.
- The first edition took place in 2016, and the latest version took place in 2018. The next edition is going to take place this year.
- The tournament follows a format of the Round-robin league and then the playoffs.
- The total number of teams that take part in The Tamil Nadu Premiere league is eight.
- Amongst the eight teams, the most successful team is the Tuti Patriots, after which Chepauk Super Gillies follow and then the Siechem Madurai Panthers. Both the sides have had one win each.
- Washington Sundar has taken the greatest number of runs, with a total of a whopping 599 runs and R Sai Kishore has received the most amount of wickets with a total of 30 wickets to his name.

About Tamil Nadu Premier League 2019
The day after 88 outstation cricketers had joined with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association TNCA keeping in mind the ultimate goal was to play in the Tamil Nadu Premier League TNPL after which the BCCI has shot a letter to TNCA saying that outstation cricketers can’t play together running by a state affiliation. It is one of the most sought- after events. Later on, BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary looked for a clarification from the TNCA and has joined the minutes of a now working advisory group meeting that managed the issue a couple of years before.
The BCCI has made it evident that their stand continues as before: state affiliations can’t permit players who belong to the outstation category in their T20 classes. Top players such as Suresh Raina, Yusuf Pathan, Manoj Tiwary, Sanju Samson and numerous other youthful players, who played IPL have enrolled with one of the TNCA’s association group so that they can play in the TNPL.

What to expect in the 2019 TNPL?
TNPL 2019 also known as the Tamil Nadu Premier League or the Sanker cement TNPL 2019 starts from 11th July and goes on till the 12th of August, with eight teams playing a total of 32 Match.
After the booming success of the second version of TNPL again it comes with the third season with same eight teams. This time it is different, there are a few changes. TNPL teams are playing a total of 32 matches which includes 28 league matches, QUALIFIER 1, QUALIFIER 2, ELIMINATOR, and the final match. Chennai, Dindigul, and Tirunelveli are the venues. Unfortunately, Coimbatore is not added this time as a ground.
The preliminary ever match of Season 4 TNPL will be played at ICL Sankar Nagar Ground, Tirunelveli. The match will be played between the Dindigul Dragons and the Ruby Trichy Warriors. The last match will be played at MAC Stadium in Chennai. Madurai Panthers is the current champions who won the previous season by defeating the brave Dindigul Dragons by seven wickets in finals.
The final winners of the tournament will take home a cheque of Rs one crore; the runners-up will get Rs 60 lakh, the third and the fourth-placed teams will be given a whopping by Rs 40 lakh each, and the remaining four teams will receive a decent sum of Rs 25 lakh for each team.
Qualifier-1 and the eliminator match has been rescheduled to August 09, 2018 due to death of M. Karunanidhi who was the previous TNPL (Tamil Nadu Premier League) owner.
The previous winners
- The first TNPL in the year 2016, was won by Tuti Patriots where Tuti Patriots played against Chepauk Super Gillies.
- The second TNPL in the year 2017 was taken home by Chepauk Super Gillies, where Chepauk Super Gillies played against Tuti Patriots.
- The third TNPL played in 2018 was won by Madurai Panthers.
