Strengths and Weakness of Netherlands Star All-Rounder

At last, the Netherlands has qualified for the 50-over World Cup. They achieved this feat after the 2011 World Cup. This is certainly a brilliant achievement. They have proved their worth. They performed outstandingly well, in both bowling and batting. However, in bowling, they were as good as any other team. However, the best bowler from their team was Bas de Leede.

Leede is the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He has taken 15 wickets in 7 matches he has played. Only Hasaranga from Sri Lanka has taken more wickets than Leede. This shows that the Netherlands is certainly having one of the best bowlers in the team.

Strengths and Weaknesses of Bas de Leede:

Every player is having some strengths and weaknesses. In the same manner, even Bas se Leede is having some strengths, and some areas to improve. You can see that below.

  • Wicket-taking ability is certainly the most important element of Leede’s bowling. Taking 15 wickets in only 7 matches is certainly a brilliant contribution. Especially when you know, that you’re facing the teams like Sri Lanka and West Indies.
  • Another benefit of keeping Leede on the team is his ability to score runs. He has scored an ODI century in his short career of 30 matches. At the same time, he is also having a batting average of 27 runs.
  • The above two points clearly make him an all-rounder. And there is no doubt, that all-rounders are always very effective.

  • Till now only one weakness has been seen in the bowling performance of Leede. That is giving away too many runs. His economy is 5.65, it can be improved for better result in his team perspective.

So, now you know how important Leede is for the Netherlands team. His contribution is certainly going to be very precious in the World Cup. At the same time, his team will expect the same performance from him in the World Cup.
