India’s stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane confirmed that Shreyas Iyer will be making his Test debut tomorrow against Black Caps in Kanpur.  Speaking to media ahead of the match via a virtual press release, Rahane said “Shreyas Iyer is going to make his debut.”

India will be entering the contest of two-match Test series against Black Caps as favorites as the host have recently won three-match T20 series against visitors by 3-0 so the momentum is with India and even if they are missing players like Kohli, Shami, Bumrah and Rohit they still are a dangerous side to tackle in home conditions.

If the curator prepares a spinning track tomorrow against Black Caps it will ideally help Indian spinners as we can witness Jadeja, Ashwin, and Axar bowling together and Axar’s record in India when it comes to Test matches has been phenomenal where he had already clinched more than 30+ wickets.

India can easily go with three spinners and two fast bowlers including the likes of Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma can trouble any batting lineup on a given day.

Taking about some changes which we will witness in 1st Test when it comes to batting for both teams will be where Mayank Agarwal will be opening the innings with Shubhman Gill followed by Pujara, Gill and Rahane who can bat at number 3,4 and 5 respectively.

Coming to New Zealand their regular skipper Kane Williamson will be making his return to the Test squad after he rested for three-match T20 series against India and will be eager to win Test match and series too.

There will be immense pressure on Kiwi spinners include the likes of Ajaz Patel, Mitchell Santner, and Rachin Ravindra to deliver as pitches in India deteriorates with every passing day.
