SA20 2023: Star Bowler Jofra Archer makes a remarkable comeback in Cricket after 541 days

It is a great comeback for the England fast bowler Jofra Archer after a break of 17 months. He made his return through the opening game of newly started SA t20 league (South Africa’s domestic Twenty20 competition). The comeback is said great as, he took 3 wickets in his four overs of the match and the first one in just first 3 deliveries, which made the world remember, the wicket taking potential of Archer. He is playing for MI Cape town in this league.

Archer represents England team in the international format. He made his debut in 2019, as a fast bowler for the team. But, Archer since his last match has gone through two elbow operations and suffered a stress fracture of the back which made him remain away from cricket for 541 days.

This was his first competitive appearance for Mumbai Indians Cape Town against Paarl Royals, but his recovery progressed with a practice outing for the England Lions in November.

As Archer is back in full rhythm, this brings excitement to the table despite England’s stellar performance over the past 12 months. Archer is anticipated to play one more game for Cape Town and will join the England One Day International team for a three-match series against South Africa later this month. Team will be empowered with his addition. Archer is also picked up by Mumbai Indians for this 2023 IPL edition.
