Ronaldo scores his first Juve hatrick as they sink Cagliari 4-0

The Italian reigning champions, Juventus ran riot against Cagliari in a Serie A fixture. The headlines of the match are Cristiano Ronaldo’s second-half hattrick which is his first after moving from Real Madrid to Bianconeri side. With the hat-trick, Ronaldo has eight goals in the last five league games to his name.

The Portuguese international pounced on the error committed by the Cagliari defense to break the deadlock just after the halftime. Cagliari was more robust in the first half compared to the second half where they didn’t allow any forward to score a goal. Cristiano Ronaldo completed the 36th hat-trick of his footballing league career and took his goal tally of the season to 15 goals. Among the 15 goals, 13 are of Italian top tier.

After an end to end the first half,  Cagliari were in a mood to complete the game with the clean sheet. However, Cagliari’s bad time started when Ragnar Klavan’s pass was intercepted and put past the goalkeeper. The first goal put the game on Juventus’ plate as they started running riot.

For the second goal, Paulo Dybala was tripped in the penalty area by Marko Rog leading into the spot. Cristiano Ronaldo completed it into a goal from the sport with a fine finish. When only nine minutes were remaining in the game to be completed, Ronaldo guided Higuain in the 81st minute to register the assist. The Argentina international cut inside and scored the goal before getting deflected off the defender.

When it seemed to be all done and dusted in the game, Douglas Costa attacked in a flashy manner and assisted Cristiano Ronaldo in completing his hattrick who slotted the ball into the back of the net. Cagliari tried to get a  consolation goal but the ball hit the back of the post.

After the victory against Cagliari, Old Lady finds themselves on top of the table until Inter Milan face Napoli. Will Juventus continue to reign the Italian football or is it the turn of Conte’s side?
