Ronald Koeman pledges to take Barcelona back on top

Barcelona set to appoints Ronald Koeman as the new head coach

Barcelona’s newly appointed head coach Ronald Koeman on Thursday pledged to make the side the same unbeatable side they were once upon a time.

The club confirmed Ronald’s appointment the day after firing the sporting director Eric Abidal and the manager Quique Seiten. Before his new job, Ronald was serving as the head coach of Netherlands football team.

After his appointment, Ronald said that his biggest priority would be to strengthen the First team and take “Barca where they belong”

“It’s a proud day. To have the chance to coach Barca is not an easy task because it is very demanding but I like that. We will work hard to strengthen the team, make changes, and put Barca where they belong. We are still the biggest club in the world and to be a coach is a dream come true,” Koeman was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.

The atmosphere hasn’t been a sweet one at the Camp Nou from the last year and the impact of it could be seen from their humiliating loss to Bayern Munich by 8-2. Barcelona was ousted from the Champions League after the loss in the quarter-finals against the red Army.

Now that Koeman will be managing the club until June 30, 2022, he will have enough time to resurrect the side and help them redeem the same old resilient side.

“FC Barcelona and Ronald Koeman have reached an agreement for the Dutchman to take over as the first-team coach until 30 June 2022,” the club had said in a statement.

Koeman is considered as one of the successful managers of any national team as he helped the Netherlands qualify for the Euro 2022.
