Not sure about other things but one thing Rahul Dravid has certainly inherited to his boys is consistency. Rahul Dravid elder son, Samit is once again grabbing all the headlines for his stellar display of batting.

Playing at the under-14 level, Samit has been making waves for a while now. The 14-year old was once again in the act on Tuesday, having played a stupendous knock of 166 runs off 131 balls which was laced with 24 boundaries.

Playing for Mallya Aditi International School, Samit put on a brilliant performance with both bat and ball. He scored 166 runs and picked up 4 wickets with the ball, to help his side register a mammoth victory and thereby took them to the semi-final of BTR Shield Under-14 Group I, Division II Tournament.

His brother was playing for the same team and scored a half-century as the duo helped the team post 330 runs in 50 overs. In reply, Vidyashilp Academy could only manage to muster 182 runs.

Apparently, this is not the first time when Samit hogged the spotlight with his stupendous batting display. A month back, Samit scored his second double hundred, while playing for his school Mallya Aditi International in the BTR Shield Under-14 Group I, Division II Tournament in Bengaluru. The 14-year old took only 144 balls to score an unbeaten 211 runs knock which includes 26 fours and one six.

Earlier in December, he came into the limelight for the first time when he hit his first double century at the under-14 level. Playing for Vice-President’s XI against Dharwad Zone in an under-14 inter-zonal tournament, Samit scored 201 runs to guide his team to 386 for 3 in 50 overs. The team eventually won the game by 132 runs.

Given the rising demands of all-rounders in the ever-evolving game of cricket, things do look bright for Samit Dravid ahead.
