Punjab CM Offers Help To International Boxer Simranjit Kaur

Punjab woman boxer Simranjit Kaur, who has qualified for the Olympics qualifiers to be held in China, has got a big assurance from the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. The Punjab CM has asked Simarnjeet to leave all worries and focus on preparations for the Olympics qualifiers in Wuhan, China.

Simranjit-Kaur-will-get-help-punjab-cm-2020In response to a tweet viral about the poor financial condition of Simranjit Kaur, the Chief Minister has tweeted, “@Simranjitboxer Don’t worry about anything, just focus on the upcoming Olympics. I have directed Secretary, Sports to immediately look into what needs to be done. Also, I would like to thank all on Social Media & the media who highlighted the issue.”

The Female pugilist, who is the sole breadwinner for her family, had been recently into the news after reports surfaced that the pugilist was jobless even after winning several laurels for the country and her state. Soon Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh ordered officers to look into the matter after finding out that Simranjit’s financial condition is deteriorating.

It is being speculated that the Punjab government will soon take a big step for Simranjit and can offer her job with financial assistance.

Rajpal Kaur thanked Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for the move and said that after getting the assurance from Chief Minister they are waiting for good days.

Rajpal Kaur added that her daughter is preparing to participate in the Asian boxing matches to be held in and the Olympics thereafter. She appealed to the government to remove the financial constraints from her.

It is to be noted that Simranjit is currently in a training camp in Delhi and is focusing on the championship to be held in China.

National champion Simranjit Kaur, who won the bronze at the 2018 World Championships and silver at the 2019 Asian Championships, after CM’s tweet said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s tweet has raised hopes of a job. She added that the CM has understood the pain of her hard work and unemployment. She further hoped that in the year 2020 will bring her more luck, and she will get a job according to her studies and sports ability. She also threw some light on the past by saying that she had urged the Punjab government twice in the year 2019 to provide her a job but no response was received.
