People Talking About Dhoni Can’t Even Tie Their Shoelaces: Ravi Shastri

Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, is not happy at all with the way people are making statements regarding the retirement of the two-time World Cup winning Indian captain MS Dhoni.

Shastri lambasted Dhoni’s critics saying that some of the people, who are talking about Dhoni, don’t even know how to tie their shoelaces.

According to Shastri, anyone, who has seen Dhoni from close quarters, would know that the time is not too far away when he will hang his boots, but till the time he is not doing that, what’s the point of commenting?

“Half the guys commenting on MS Dhoni can’t even tie their shoelaces. Look at what he’s achieved for the country. Why are people in a hurry to see him off? Maybe, they don’t find enough talking points.” Shastri said in an exclusive interview given to Cricbuzz.

Shastri recalled Dhoni’s test retirement which he had announced in the middle of the India tour of Australia 2014-15.

Dhoni had clearly said he was doing that because Wriddhiman Saha was ready to take over the gloves from him and he proved to be right as Saha excelled with the gloves for India.

After the Ranchi test match, when Dhoni came to the Indian dressing room, his main motive was to talk to Shahbaz Nadeem, the guy who had just played his first test match.

He has always backed the idea of supporting the newcomers and the youngsters. He is someone who thinks in the interests of the team, not about himself.

Shastri urged people to respect the services Dhoni has provided to India over the last one and half decades and let him take a call when he has to bid adieu to the game. The coach reckons debating over Dhoni’s retirement is disrespectful to the legend.
