West Indies leg-spinner Hayden Walsh had a quite difficult time reminding people that he is not the son of former West Indies fast bowler Courtney Walsh. But after an eventful night in the second T20I against India, he might have got his own identity known.

The 27-year old leg-spinner, who finished with match figures of 2/28 and played a crucial part in West Indies’ victory said that people will now find out who he is.

“I was playing in the Canada T20 league and someone called me Courtney Walsh. People my father is not Courtney Walsh. But I guess now they will find out who I am and who is my father.”

Walsh picked up the vital wicket of Shivab Dube and brought West Indies back into the game. The all-rounder was promoted up the order and the experience went quite well as he scored 54 off just 30 balls. The leg-spinner then also went on to pick up the wicket of Shreyas Iyer.

Walsh explained how he managed to trick Dube and also expressed the roller-coaster story of his career.

“I was bowling a lot to Lewis and Pooran in the nets. I was a bit confident coming in to bowl to him [Dube]. It has been like a roller-coaster ride for me. As you can see, I have been working hard trying to find my way to the top into international cricket. Just to be here and perform in a game is just. I am over the moon,” he added.

However, keeping aside all personal achievements. Walsh is determined to help West Indies to win the series now after coming back strongly in the second T20I.

“The main thing is to win the series. The goal is just winning this series and to help the team do their best,” he concluded.

The series decider between India and West Indies will be held on December 11 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
