Paul Pogba And David De Gea Ruled Out Of The Liverpool Clash

Manchester United won’t have the services of their two key players, Paul Pogba and David De Gea, in their upcoming Premier League game against the arch rivals Liverpool.

Manchester United are in dire straits at the moment having been able to win just 2 out of the 8 games in their Premier League campaign. They desperately need a win and they are up against Liverpool who are topping the league table having won all their 8 games so far.

Without the services of Pogba and De Gea, it doesn’t seem likely that United would be able to turn it around. Pogba has been injured for a while and he has taken part in only two out of the last seven matches that United has played in the Premier League. And United has missed him badly. There has been a lack of energy and urgency upfront in Pogba’s absence.

De Gea is another player who is a vital cog in the United set-up. His form has been a little shaky lately, but he is a highly consistent performer between the sticks and has made up for the defenders’ mistakes many times in the past. With him not being there, Sergio Romero will discharge the goalkeeping duties and it’s hard to tell if he would meet the high standards set by De Gea.

De Gea injured himself playing for his national side Spain in the recently organized Euro qualifiers. He had to be stretchered off the ground.

“David needs a scan. I think he’ll be out. It certainly looked like it anyway judging on last night so it’s just one of those things.” The United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was quoted saying by Sky Sports.

Paul needs a few weeks’ rest. He won’t make this game, no.” Ole added when asked about Pogba.
